A Shared Farmhouse — Not an Institution (Upstate NY)

Farmhouse
We are exploring the idea of buying a quiet, low-key 4+ bed/3+ bath farmhouse (and installing accessibility features like a stair lift) in upstate New York.

The concept would be for an 80-year-old father and his adult son (who is also the live-in caregiver) to share the home with 1–2 compatible Medicaid-enrolled residents.

Medicaid would cover the cost of caregiver support, so there would be no out-of-pocket caregiving cost for residents.

We are simply exploring whether this type of shared, home-based alternative would be a good fit for everyone involved.

This short questionnaire is not an application for a current opening — it’s just a way to gauge comfort level, compatibility, and overall interest.
